To everyone who knew and loved Clites “Uncle Clite” Gray,

 

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Uncle Clite on June 5, 2026, due to natural causes.

 

For many of you, he wasn’t simply Clites Gray. He was Uncle Clite. He was CatBone. He was family.

 

Whether you grew up with him in Polk County, North Carolina, knew him from Yonkers, New York, shared stories with him, laughed with him, or simply crossed paths with him throughout his life, chances are he left a lasting impression on your heart.

 

As we grieve this tremendous loss, we are doing our best to honor the wishes of the man who meant so much to so many.

 

One of Uncle Clite’s final wishes was to receive a traditional burial. Unfortunately, the upfront cost of securing his burial plot must be paid before those arrangements can be finalized. As a family, we are working tirelessly to make sure his wishes are fulfilled and that he receives the homegoing he deserved.

 

Today, we humbly ask for your support.

 

If Uncle Clite ever made you laugh, offered you advice, welcomed you as family, shared a story with you, or simply brightened your day, we ask that you consider making a donation toward his burial expenses.

The loss of Uncle Clite has left a tremendous void in our family. He was our patriarch, our storyteller, our protector, our friend, and a source of love and laughter for generations of family and friends.

 

We know there are countless people whose lives he touched that we may never be able to reach personally. It is our hope that this website serves as a place where everyone who loved him can stay informed, share memories, receive updates, and help us celebrate a life that will never be forgotten.
